"nukenate" has had a fascination with politics since 11, and so he created this blog! Wanting to express himself(although the blog is more of a news site instead of a place I state a lot of my views) I created this blog. Currently living in the Middle East, “nukenate” tries to write something at least once a day, and hopes one day to get rich from here and create his own website (Or at least one with his own domain, mini-republican.com)
Send me an email at mini-republican@hotmail.com for anything

I will no longer be updating on this blog.

Thank you to those who came to read. But from now on, all activity will be on my new site.

Hamas Votes Obama

Ahmed Yousef, the Chief Political Advisor in Hamas, has endorsed Barak Obama.

"We like Mr. Obama and we hope he will win the election. He has a vision to change America"

It didn't take long until the John McCain camp jumped onto this one. Going on about how Obama isn't hard enough of Hamas and Iran, who have pledged to wipe Israel off the map. As the McCain News Letter said:

"We need change in America, but not the kind of change that wins kind words from Hamas, surrenders in Iraq and will hold unconditional talks with Iranian President" Ahmadinejad."

Okay, but why is Hamas not spewing hate? Perhaps because Obama wants to cut and run (Which I think would be a disaster) and because he is sympathetic to Palestine. Good, Palestine gets too much harsh treatment from Israel and the US. Punish the leadership, not the followers.

Fitna Protests go too far.

Fitna, the big bad movie of death that bashes the Quran and Islam has, as I’m sure you know, caused a massive stir in the international community. Many Muslims are jumping mad, why shouldn’t they be? The film attacks their religion and demonizes them. So okay, vent, go ahead. But some of these protests? Like the one in Tehran? Hurling eggs?  Demanding an end to The Royal Dutch Shell Oil Company operating in Iran? Shouting Death to America and Death to Israel? Excuse me? How the heck did the US and Israel get into this? Why is the embassy under siege? How the Royal Dutch Shell is company to blame?

If a Liberian man made a movie about the atrocities Americans performed on slaves and went into saying the Bible Okays that treatment, I would be mad. Why? Because I would think it’s a load of bull. But there is no way I would egg a Liberian embassy, nor would I demand that the Liberian oil company be forced out of America, and I defiantly would not start shouting “Death to China!” “Death to Canada!” two countries that had nothing to do with the video! What the heck is wrong with those Iranians?

Yes, yes, I know. It’s the actions of the few, misleadingly representing the views of the many. It’s like Arab countries judging America based on the Neo-Nazis. Not all Iranians are extremists that seethe hate. I understand that many Muslims get it, “Its freedom of speech and another country, what can be done?” And while I also understand the anger at the Dutch, how the heck do you make that jump to America and Israel? Doesn’t that bother you??

I think the republicans may just win!

As you may have recalled (or you could look two posts down) I wrote a post about my predictions for 2008. Back then I said I believed we (Or I, depending on your party affiliation) would lose in 2008. I now think , keyword being “think”, that John McCain just may win the election.

Just a few weeks ago, this Idea was unthinkable, but if Hillary and Obama keep slugging it out, this may become a reality.

After going over my last post, these are the states I changed loyalties too:

Oregon (To the Republicans)

New Mexico (To the Republicans

Oklahoma (To the Republicans)

Louisiana (To the Republicans)

Georgia (To the Republicans)

West Virginia (To the Republicans)

New Hampshire (To the Republicans)

Arkansas (To the Democrats’)

Wyoming (To the Republicans)

Nine states adjusted in total, eight to the Republicans and one to the Democrats. I think Hillary or Obama can appeal to enough voters in Arkansas to get them to vote for the Democrats’, and John McCain is liberal enough to pull independents and some Democrats over. Because of that ability to win swing voters, I switched very narrow states like Oregon. Doing this brought in a very narrow GOP victory of 264 to 261 votes. I put my margin of error in five states, since the delegate count varies by state to state, I can’t say my margin of error in delegates.

Opinions?

Iraqi surplus surpases US rebuilding debt.

The United States has spent more than 45 billion USD rebuilding Iraq from frequent suicide bombings. While Iraqi officials predict a $35 billion dollar revenue last fall, Stuart Bowen (A special inspector General for Iraq Reconstruction) says the number is closer to $60 billion. If the US chose too, it could wipe most or all of its 45 billion dollar debt clean. Fortunately we won’t, but we should make Iraq pay at least 1-5 Billion in reconstruction costs. Yes, yes, I know. "We attacked them, why should THEY pay?"

Because they can. They need more money to be spent on rebuilding and we cannot cough up enough dough, to do that; at least not without going through congress, and that kills the deal. The US already owes over 500,000,000 in debt over the Iraq war, and Iraq is not ready to stand on its own. It's getting better, I have no doubt that progress is being made. They need the US to stay for security reasons, they just cannot protect themselves yet! The US has a huge debt, and when Iraq has a possible $60 billion dollar surplus "...the questions is who should be paying." says General David Walker.

Listen, war is a horrible, horrible, thing. And I know (unlike some of my idiot friends) that the US does not get a huge kick out of the mass killing of people. Sometimes I just get extremely frustrated over the fact we went to war with Iraq, but we have to finish this. And we need all the help we can get, so Iraq, lend us a few billion. Please?

AND JOHN McCAIN WON THE NOMINATION!

My prediction for 2008

No time no see loyal fans!

I’m in the process of creating a NEW mini-republican site, and I may get the domain mini-republican.com! Anyhow, I’ve been doing some research and have come up with my own predictions for the results of the 2008 elections. Let’s see how accurate they will be. Of course we won’t know for another seven months. Try to think of it as a suspenseful movie (A long seven month movie with some sort of climax once every few weeks, how about we wait until the last half hour of it just to see the exiting parts?)

Anyhow, the predictions where made based on the results of the last four elections, this year’s primaries, and recent events. Unfortunately for me and the Republican Party (And to the upmost joy of Democrats) I think that the Democrats will win. The Democrats won 334 Electoral Votes and the Republicans win 205. I uploaded my map, do you think am I accurate?

I’m not sure who will win the Democrat nominee; I still think Hillary will have a comeback, but Obama has been performing so well. One of the two will face off with John McCain

Castro Steps Down

"Ailing Castro steps down as Cuba’s president”

*Herk-phleg!*

I nearly inhaled my gum.

Castro, the longest living arch enemy of the United States (And longest serving head of government) is going to transfer power to his brother, Raul because of his health. How will the US react? If where president I would start talking, now. Tell Raul we will end the embargo, just be nicer. All we ask is a little less dictating (Okay, so “a little less dictating” is easier said than done), some nicer relations for with the US would be great too. C’mon Cuba, let’s be friends! Alright that may just be a lot of wishful thinking, but still. Everyone likes friends. Many Cubans in Cuba don’t want Castro to go because in their eyes he is a benevolent dictator. Exiles just see a dictator and say “Good riddance!”.

So what is your author’s humble opinion? Castro sure knows how to get the crowd going, and take care of healthcare. But I’m glad he is stepping down, this gives the US a shot at being nice with Cuba.

McCain has the nomination in the bag.

John McCain has the Republican Nomination in the bag. With 721 delegates out of 1,191 needed he is more than half way there. The runner up Mitt Romney has 278 delegates, so at this point I would say that McCain has it.

Obama vs Hillary? I don't know. Obama has 861, Clinton has 855. Close, but If I had to vote between the two I would vote for Clinton, more of a conservative than Obama. Want to know what states voted who? click --> here <-- for a good link, and --> here <-- for another,

As I was writing this I just found out, Mitt Romney just dropped out of the presidential elections! Guess he could not fare up to John McCain. My lord, now it is pretty much a one man race in the republican party! I wonder why he dropped out? Actually why don’t I just look that up now?

Aha! WIRED said, well actually Mitt said it but I quoted from WIRED:

"If I fight on in my campaign, all the way to the convention, I would forestall the launch of a national campaign and make it more likely that Senator Clinton or Obama would win. And in this time of war, I simply cannot let my campaign, be a part of aiding a surrender to terror."

Well said Mitt, he was the best looking candidate so too bad for all the dumb female voters. Note to all voters, DO NOT VOTE JUST BECAUSE OF THE HOTNESS FACTOR!

This just reinforces my claim, John McCain has the Nomination in the bag. Even if Mitts voters flock to Huckabee John McCain would have at least 200 more Delegates. You know, this past week has been the greatest week of my life. McCain whalups Super Tuesday, and now he he has a straight shot for the nomination.

February 07

John McCain whupped A**!

Y-a-h-o-o-o-o-o-!

Y-e-e-e-e-e-e-s!

Y-e-e-e-e-e-a-a-a-a-h-!

John McCain has over 600 delegates while Romney has only 207. Clinton has 830 and Obama has 820. Why do the Democrats have 200 more delegates? Well the Democrats have a two way race, the republicans have more to divide the winnings among. Anyhow, HE IS WHIPPING REPUBLICAN BUTT! Yes freaking yes! This will be updated later with what states where won.
February 04

Romney won Main, and I ramble about other stuff.

Horary for Romney! Dang for McCain and I. It's now a pretty close race between the two (McCain and Romney I mean, I won’t be in the presidential race till at least 2036).

I wasn’t quite sure of the demographics in Maine so I did not have any prediction for it. I do however predict John McCain winning tomorrow in SUPER TUESDAY! Or as I like to say SUPER FREAKING FRAKING UBER ULTRA HYPER IMPORTANT TUESDAY! Or as I like to say for short S.F.F.U.U.H.I.T.! (pronounced Ss-Fuh-Hit). I was quite pleased to see that a school class mate wrote in his assignment “The news just confirmed! John McCain is now in his second term in office!” the paper was about future news.

I am further happy due to a bet I made with a Canadian friend of mine (Yes I know, Canadian, bleh!), the bet was made when McCain’s campaign was declared dead by many except him and many supporters (*cough*). Knowing how stubborn that tough son of a gun he was I believed in McCain, and now my friend has his “knickers up in a twist” as a teacher of mine likes to say (I know, I know, weird saying. That teacher IS Canadian so hey, what can I do?) So if all goes as I hope, my buddy will owe me 50 DHS, or around $15-$16.

LETS HOPE FOR THE BEST! My best, I mean.

To any Canadians who may be reading this. JUST KIDDING! Don’t kill me!
